Marbling is the ancient art of floating paint on the surface of thickened water known as the marbling size, and then transferring the floating design onto paper or fabric. It has a rich history throughout Europe and Asia. All Jacquard's Marbling Colors spread equally on the marbling size and produce the most intense colours possible.

On fabric, the Marbling Colors are soft to the touch and completely washfast after heat setting. On other porous and semi-porous surfaces, the paints have excellent adhesion. Can be used on any porous or semi-porous surface, including natural and synthetic fabrics, canvas, paper, wood, leather and more.

Students can create their own patterned fabric, one-of-a-kind wrapping paper, greeting cards, fine art and more. Marbled fabric can be incorporated into a large project such as a class quilt or individual pillow covers, wall hangings and more. A great group activity.

Note you will need to supply fabric or paper for marbling, paper towels, shallow pans/trays for marbling, container and whisk for mixing the marbling size and various hair picks, combs, rakes, skewers or stylus for combing patterns.
